El martes 10 de noviembre , Latinos por una Jubilación Segura y AARP Florida están organizando una plática sobre cómo las familias Latinas pueden prepararse mejor para asegurar sus finanzas personales en sus años dorados y descifrar la planificación patrimonial. 

 

Regístrese para unirse a nuestra conversación y un taller de preparación para la planificación patrimonial. La conversación será seguida por un llamado a la acción por parte de las oficinas de AARP Maryland y AARP DC.

Milagros Meléndez, El Tiempo Latino


Milagros Meléndez is an experienced journalist in Washington, DC, with an extensive knowledge of local and national issues that impact the citizens of the United States and in particular the Latino community. She has worked for El Tiempo Latino for two decades and has experience in radio and television. She worked as a reporter at Telemundo Noticias-Washington and later, as a content producer for Telemundo-NBC. She currently produces the talk show-style political program for La Agenda Radio DC, where she is also a co-host. In the international field, she collaborates with the television newscasts of America TV and Canal N in Peru.

Ana Sol Gutierrez, Maryland State Delegate (Retired)


Ana Sol Gutierrez, Maryland State Delegate (Retired) Ana Sol Gutiérrez made history as the first Latina to be elected in Maryland, as well as the First Salvadoran-American elected to public office in the USA (1990). She was also the first Hispanic state legislator elected to the Maryland House of Delegates in November 2002. Her passion for Education Equity and Social Justice and her extensive experience with public policy at local, state, and national levels, have made her an effective, progressive leader in Annapolis and nationwide. ... She continues to work to close the educational achievement gaps for Latino and African American students, to ensure fair, livable wages and paid sick leave for all working women and men, and to protect immigrant, civil, human, and women’s rights. She worked incessantly to pass the MD Dream Act and Marriage Equality, to protect access to Maryland Driver’s Licenses by residents regardless of immigration status, and fought to eliminate the death penalty. She passed legislation to strengthen gun safety laws, advocate for universal access to health care by all, and promotes expanding language access for English Language Learners and dual Language programs for all students in early grades.

Veronica Fuentes, Certified Financial Planner, Northwestern Mutual


In 9 years, Veronica Fuentes has built a reputation as one of the nation's leading Latina Financial Planners. Her DC based practice, in partnership with DeVaughn Hodge, serves over 500 clients across the country. She consistently ranks in the top 10% among Northwestern Mutual’s financial advisors nationwide. For Fuentes, financial planning is not only a career but a personal mission. When her mother passed away unexpectedly at the age of 19, Veronica learned how important financial planning was to a family. From this experience, Fuentes has made it her life's work to make a difference in other families' lives by giving them the gift of financial security.
